6×6 Scrapbook Layouts
Oh my goodness! I’m having so much fun playing around with 6×6 scrapbook layouts! I’ve never tried ths smaller size before, but what a joy! Usually I struggle with completing a traditional 12×12 page, but this is so much more fun! I completed 5 pages in such a short amount of time, and they co-ordinate so well. And the best thing is that I can focus on the PHOTOS! That’s one of the issues I’ve had with scrapbooking; so much time and energy is spent on making the page pretty (or perfect) that the attention is taken off the photos, and that’s what we want to SEE! Photos and the people in them! This way, the photo is the main attraction and the stamps or embellishments are just that – “embellishments” – not the focal point.
I’ve scrapbooked some photos of my children at the Medieval Fair that we went to in May. See what you think – I’d be interested how you feel about them.

These Knights were ferrocious! My goodness, did they hit each other with such force! It was thrilling to watch and often quite amusing as some knights did a comical ‘death scene’. The children were fascinated by all the action, as was I!
I love going to the Medieval Fairs – there’s always lots to see and of course, Laura loves to get dressed up in her Medieval dress that I made her. Next year I might even wear a gown myself!
Anniversary Card
Happy Anniversary to my dearest mum and dad!!!! What a wonderful example of true friendship, love, compromise, compassion, forgiveness, laughter, partnership and trust. Mum and Dad – I love you!
I made this card for my mum and dad on their Anniversary (50+years together!!). I’ve used the Retired Stampin’ Up! stamp set, Mon Ami, as this was the only set I had that had large hearts, but you can easily replace them with current sets (Forever in My Heart would be perfect for this). I’ve made the card with Ballet Blue cardstock and a strip of pale blue organza ribbon from my sewing stash. It’s hard to see in the photo, but I’ve used Dimensionals with the uppermost heart to ‘pop’ it off the card.

Wild about Glitter
Here’s a little card that I’ve sent to my brother-in-law and his wife, as they’ve just told us they’re expecting! We’re Thrilled about their exciting news and of course, I just *had* to make them a card for the occasion!
The elephant from Wild About You is perfect for baby cards and I just adore the Dazzling Diamonds Glitter detail.
At such an early stage we don’t know whether they’re having a boy or a girl, so I’ve used both pink and blue on the card. But because there isn’t so much pink on the outside of the card, I’ve used a pink ‘card insert’ to write my message. (I doubt they’ll find out the sex of the baby before-hand, so it will be a wonderful surprise!)
Cardstock: Bashful Blue, Ballet Blue, Pixie Pink and Very Vanilla.
Stamp sets: Wild About You, Figures of Speech, Warm Words
Ink: Tempting Turquoise, Rose Red and Versamark
Accessories: Scallop Circle Punch, 1 1/4″ Circle Punch, Heat & Stick Powder, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter.

Gift for a friend…
I gave this cute matching card and gift box to my dear friend, Linda for doing my daughter’s hair for the school play on Thursday night. My daughter was to be a mermaid in the Peter Pan play and she had to have curly hair. Linda very kindly did it beautifully!! THANKYOU Linda! (Not that she’ll read this, LOL)
She is a most wonderful friend and she loves purple, so the Lovely Lilac cardstock was perfect for her.
Ink: VersaMark
Stamp set: Priceless, Figures of Speech
Cardstock: Lovely Lilac, Orchid Opulence, Pixie Pink
Accessories: circle scallop punch, 1 1/4 circle punch
In Celebration of my Blog
I’ll find an excuse for a card anywhere I can! And so, In Celebration of creating my Blog, I’m posting this card that I made recently. Its inspiration comes from a layout and design by Makeesha (http://www.makeeshabyl.com.au/index.php/category/stamp-set-samples/priceless/)
I have used one of my (many) favrourite Stampin’ Up!® Stamp sets, “Priceless”.
If you’d like to re-create this card, I have used Pumpkin Pie and Not Quite Navy cardstock from the Earth Elements range and Bashful Blue from Soft Subtles. I stamped the large scroll image with VersaMark on the Not Quite Navy cardstock and then tore the edges to create a soft look. Adhere this to the centre of the Pumpkin Pie card. Ink the small scroll from Priceless with Night of Navy ink (Rich Regals), and stamp it on a square of Very Vanilla cardstock. Adhere the Very Vanilla cardstock onto Bashful Blue and trim as necessary. I have distressed the edges of the Bashful Blue cardstock with my fingernails (very expensive tool!!) To finish the card off, I have stamped the heart image with Really Rust ink, cut around it and adhered it with the Snail adhesive to the card. Finally, stamp the Happiness stamp from Warm Words, and you’re done!
Enjoy!
Jules
