Rolling Along…
Well it’s been a while – I know. But to get things rolling along again, I thought I’d share a card I made at the last craft get-together I had with my Stampin’ Buddies Ju and Kelly… Let me set the scene: I’d had a bit of a hiatus from all forms of stamping and took a good break from doing workshops during all of June and this created a certain Lack of Creativity! WOW… I never imagined that I could lose my Mojo so quickly – but maybe, just maybe it was perfect timing to have a break!? It’s kind of like the Chicken and the Egg… Which came first??? Well, what came first for me? Did I lose my Mojo and co-incidentally I’d already decided to have a break from stamping? OR… Did the break from stamping CAUSE my Mojo to go AWOL? Either way, my Mojo is back now!!! *HURRAY!!!*
But Seriously! It was well and truly gone! My sweet little boy (not so little) turned 6 during June and I struggled to make his card. I had a lot of trouble designing the layout and couldn’t decide on colours and accessories (ARGH!) for ages. I finally made something I was happy with, although I kind of feel that I ripped him off and should make him another one with my full faculties LOL!
Thanks to my buddies, though (*hugs*) I created 4 cards during our stampin’ night, and I’ll share this one with you.
When making cards and deciding on which stamps to use, don’t overlook the Stampin’ Up! roller wheels (Jumbo and regular). Roller wheels can be the feature or main image of your card and take just moments to make!

Kindness Jumbo Wheel
I’ve used a base card of Summer Sun and wheeled the Kindness Jumbo Wheel onto Whisper White c/s in Riding Hood Red. I’ve mounted that onto a strip of Riding Hood Red (quite a mouthful – now known as RHR!) I’ve used my Eyelet Border Punch to create a very pretty scalloped edge on Tangerine Tango c/s and then mounted the RHR section onto that! To create a soft look to the card, I’ve sponged the edges in the same ink as the cardstock… so for example, the Summer Sun card has been sponged with Summer ink and the Tangerine Tango c/s sponged with Tangerine Tango ink etc…
I’ve used the saying from Simply Said as that set matches the Kindness wheel so beautifully! To finish it off, I’ve coloured the tiny flowers with ink to match the cardstock by using my Blender Pens.
This card was very quick to make, and by simply exchanging another Jumbo Wheel for the Kindness wheel you can just imagine the possibilities!
On a side note, I’m glad the school hoilidays are nearly over – not because I’m sick of the children, but because they’ve been sick! LOL. Darling daughter’s asthma flared up after a minor viral infection last weekend and we’ve been pretty much in-doors for the week. It’s been cold outside, and the cold air just makes her cough worse so we’ve been watching many DVD’s and doing indoor activities (*much love to Gran and Poppa for the children’s painting books – what a life-saver!!!*) I also look forward to getting back to the gym once the children are back at school! YAY for routines! Can’t wait to get back into the swing of things.
Enjoy

Colour Challenge #1
I think it’s about time that I started a colour challenge – it’s as much for me as for you – sometimes I just need to challenge myself and work outside of my comfort zone and work with colours that I normally wouldn’t use. I was so taken with these colours that I decided to set the challenge before I’d even made my own card – so I’m joining the challenge too!!! I’ll post my card as soon as it’s done.
The inspiration for this particular colour challenge comes from the photo of the Supernatural boys in the previous post. I saw those blues and it just screamed at me to create something with them. So, we have:

Basic Black, Brilliant Blue, Brocade Blue, Whisper White
Colour Challenge # 1:
Basic Black
Brilliant Blue
Brocade Blue
Whisper White
If you’d like to take part in this challenge, please leave a comment with a link to your Challenge card on your blog.
Have fun!

Congratulations Kelly!

This is the card that I made for my dear friend (and now one of my Team), Kelly.
Congratulations Kelly on your recent Promotion in Stampin’ Up! Well done!!
This isn’t a totally original idea of mine – I did see something similar on the net which gave me the inspiration to make this card. The card used the stamps from Bold Butterfly rather than the Jumbo ‘Flitting By’ Wheel. ( I don’t have the ”Bold Butterfly” set.)
I added my own twist on it by wheeling “Flitting By” diagonally across the A4 Cardstock, then re-inking the wheel in Not Quite Navy and again in Bashful Blue, rolling it on Whisper White C/S and cutting out the butterflies I wanted to adhere with dimensionals on top of the card. I also used the small butterfly from Live Your Dream (with VersaMark) to add a subtle feature to the card. The one I saw on the net – and I can’t for the life of me remember who it was made by – was a lot brighter, whereas I wanted to stay with the simple colour combo of blue and white. I just adore how crisp and fresh this card feels. The glitter on the swirls adds the perfect amount of bling, without overpowering it.
Hope you liked it, Kelly! ( I couldn’t post this here, until after I’d given it to her!) You’re an awesome friend and we have a lot of laughs together – I’m blessed to have you in my life and look forward to all the fun things we’ll do in the future. *hugs*.
Enjoy, and Congrats lovey!

Not more Scribble This? Oh yes!
*laughs* Oh yes, when I get into a ‘groove’ there’s no stopping me. Here’s a card that I made last night (well, truth be told, it was finished last night, but it came together over the course of a few days (while I procrastinated over the layout and just couldn’t get it looking right!). I wanted to use the Scribble jumbo wheel on a card with the Scribble This stamp set, so it was a bit of a challenge;

Materials; Bashful Blue cardstock, Not Quite Navy ink, rub on saying (white), Blender pens with Gable Green and Bashful Blue ink to colour the flowers. Rhinestone brads from the ‘Ice’ range. I’ve added glitter to just the ‘dots’ on the flowers and the ‘dots’ on the wheel in the top corner.
