Here is a card that the guests at one of my recent workshops made. Have I said that I love the Elegant Bird die? I’m sure I have… but I *really* do love it.

Totally Wicked Boots!

Posted in Cards tagged , , , , , , , , at 9:10 am by bejewelledcreations

These boots are wicked!

I made this card especially for mum – “Just Because” (she’s wonderful!). She loves boots of all kinds and has a particularly wicked pair of Victorian style boots which made me think of her when I saw this image.

Would you believe it if I told you that this is another Napkin card? Yes! *I Know!!!!* Totally awesome.

Wicked Boots!

This design of napkin was given to me by a craft friend, Jenni to try out. I’m loving them!! This one has four boot/shoe designs on the ONE napkin so you can get four different cards from the ONE napkin!!! *I know!!!*

Again, the napkin is separated down to the thinnest top layer, glued onto thin cardstock and then made into a card. I used a second napkin of the same design and cut around the boot to raise it on Dimensionals. I added embellishments of a puffy flower, Trinket Key and Crown, Ribbon and some Designer Series Paper (Newsprint from last year).

Wicked Boot, puffy flower.

My daughter (11) was horrified that I was using such pretty trinkets (the key and crown) on a card! She thought they were too special to give away – hhhmmmmm, sounds like me a little bit. I do have a bad habit of not wanting to give away the special embellishments (because they’re just so damn CUTE!!!), but I’m getting better at letting them go. *sniff*.

The puffy flower is made by punching and layering 6 scallop circles on top of each other, securing with a brad and then scrunching five of the scallops tightly. Gently open up a few layers until you’re happy with the result.

Now for something a little bit different…

Posted in Cards tagged , , , , , , , at 9:06 am by bejewelledcreations

Here’s a card I made simply for fun – well, I make all my cards for FUN but this is one that I won’t be showing in workshops or demonstrations. A lovely couple of ladies (*waves to Linda and Jenni*) from a group that I’ve done a couple of workshops for have used napkins to make cards. Yes, NAPKINS!!! Seriously, these ladies make the most beautiful cards! I simply *had* to give one a try….. or two or three or four.

Napkin card. Yes, I *know!*

All the work is done for you – on the printing of the napkin. All I did was peel apart the layers of the napkin until I had the top-most layer with the design on it, then I adhered it to a piece of cardstock with my Anywhere Glue Stick and gently rubbed over the napkin to get any crinkles out. To be honest, if you have a crinkle or two it actually adds to the aged look of the card. I glued another napkin to another piece of cardstock (I used confetti white) and cut around the flowers to adhere up on dimensionals. I finished the card off with a bit of Kindy Glitz, Rose Red Seam Binding ribbon, a bit of Bling and a puffy flower made from an old dress-making pattern that I no longer needed.

These cards are fun to make and feel really nice – almost like fabric. It’s hard to believe it was ever a napkin!

I made some others from napkins with SHOES on them!! Yes, Shoes!!! I know!!!!

I’ll post them soon.

Thanks for visiting.
