Time Well Spent…

In the previous post I said that I’ve had a lot of fun playing with my Time Well Spent set, and thought I’d share some of the sample cards that I made. I loved adding the Dazzling Diamonds Glitter too! (I love Bling!!)

For these cards I’ve used Stampin’ Pastels with Blender Pens to colour the butterflies,  Black and Pink Passion ink, VersMark, Chocolate Chip, Close to Cocoa and Very Vanilla cardstock and the Bery Bliss Designer Paper Series. Oh, yes, and plenty of Dazzling Diamonds Glitter applied very simply with the 2-way glue pen (an absolute favourite!!!).

Overdue Update…

Posted in Cards tagged , , at 2:51 pm by bejewelledcreations

Woah, it’s been a long time since my last update (my bad), so I thought I’d get back into it. Of course it doesn’t help when the computer disk space is nearly full and it won’t download my photos from the camera! GRR.

What have I been up to lately? Well, going to the gym more regularly again (YAY me!) and that easily can take up the morning by the time I get home. I’m planning on going earlier in the morning right after the school drop-off but that all depends on how organised I’ve been in getting everyone ready in the first place. Why is it so difficult to get the children up and ready? You’d think it would be easier with them both off to school now – but no… every morning I feel like I’m chasing my tail and fighting a losing battle just to get out the door on time. *sigh*

I’ve made costumes for the school play (Peter Pan) and have a couple of costumes for my daughter’s ballet troupe to make within the next few weeks.

It doesn’t sound like much, but with working from home for our business too, it hasn’t left a great deal of time for posting on my blog *pets pretty blog*.

I’d like to share some cards that I’ve made over the last month or so:

This is the card I made for my dear friend, Kim *waves to Kim*  “Happy Birthday!” I’m so lucky to have Kim in my life and she’s always there if I need her. LOL she won’t take ‘no’ for an answer when it comes to the gym! And I love her for it!

For those of you who don’t know it, this stamp set is a Level 3 Hostess set and it’s GORGEOUS!!! I’ve had so much fun with this set, making similar cards using the butterflies and sayings. It’s a beautiful set – really!

This card’s inspiration was from the Start Simply “Sending Happy Thoughts” Kit. I LOVE Kits!!! I got this kit during the 20% discount Promotion and after I made the first cards, I fell in love with the Kits! It was really nice to sit at the coffee table and make three or four cards quickly and not have to sit at the dining table with all my supplies. I thoroughly enjoyed making these cards and this particular card uses the flower and butterfly stamps from the Perfect Princess set. I gently coloured the flower with Stampin’ Pastels and Blender Pens and added Glitter to the butterflies and centre of the flower. This design was very adaptable and I could see the same layout being used with multiple stamp sets.

My Brother-in-Law had his birthday  last month, and I struggled with a card. I don’t have many images that could be used for masculine cards (and I know many of us find it tricky to get that perfect look), but I figured I’d try my Classic Stars Jumbo wheel. I used VersaMark ink on the Chocolate Chip and then used the wheel on Creamy Caramel with Close to Cocoa ink. I cut out a star image on Very Vanilla and adhered it with Dimensionals to the upper area of the card. Adding the Real Red as matting on the star and the saying finished the card off. What do you think? Does it pass for an adult male birthday card? I think this card would better suit a younger male, but it’s all I could do at the time. LOL.

I can see that I’ll have to make more male cards so that I get the hang of masculine cards. They can certainly be tricky. I don’t think I have a problem with little boy cards, just the grown up variety!
