Catalogue Inspired

Posted in Cards, Inspired by... tagged , , , , at 8:43 am by bejewelledcreations

I used the Stampin’ Up! current Idea Book & Catalogue as inspiration for this card.

Check out page 72 and you’ll see a card in the top left that uses a different stamp set (Every Moment), but I quite liked the design and layout of the card and just tweaked it somewhat.

I love the combination of the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder with the antique feel of the stamps.

This little set is so cute. I love the butterflies – and they’re not that hard to cut around. The 3 butterflies are the on the one stamp so it’s easy to get them in a straight line if that’s what you want. The sentiments are practical too.

Page 72 of the ID&C looks like this:

Stamps: Kindness Matters, French Foliage

Cardstock: Elegant Eggplant, Wisteria Wonder, Old Olive, Very Vanilla

Inks: Elegant Eggplant, Wisteria Wonder, Old Olive

Other: Big Shot, Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder, Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border punch, Lots of Tags Sizzlits die set, Extra Large Oval punch, Chantilly Crochet Trim, Vintage Trinkets (safety pin), Stamping Sponges, general shipping tag.

A little bit of a Twist.

Posted in 3D items, Cards tagged , , , , , at 8:39 am by bejewelledcreations

A very quick post today.

Using my much loved Apothecary Art stamp set and matching Big Shot Framelits – Labels Collection, here is a Twisted Easel card.

I’ve kept the colour palette to a minimum here – Marina Mist and Certainly Celery with Very Vanilla. (I really love the shine that the satin ribbon gives off.)

I hope it has a clean and fresh feel to it, at least I *think* it does anyway.

Here is the whole set for Apothecary Art – it’s really versatile, and while it’s PERFECT when you match it with the Framelits Labels Collection die, you can easily cut these images out by hand.

This is the Loving Thoughts set. I used the “Wonderful You” sentiment for my Twisted Easel Card, above.

Stamps: Apothecary Art, Loving Thoughts (both in the Autumn-Winter mini catalogue – out now!)

Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Marina Mist, Certainly Celery

Inks: Marina Mist

Other: Big Shot, Framelits- Labels Collection, Finial Press embossing folder, Certainly Celery Satin Ribbon, Boho Blossom punch, Basi Jewels Rhinestones, Snail, Dimensionals, Sticky Strip.

Thanks for visiting – have you stamped today?

Here is a card that the guests at one of my recent workshops made. Have I said that I love the Elegant Bird die? I’m sure I have… but I *really* do love it.

Shabby Chic card with scroll.

Posted in Cards tagged , , , , , , at 10:00 am by bejewelledcreations

I sat up late last night as my husband was out at a  fire-call and I made this card – which is unusual for me to make anything at night! Normally I prefer to do my making during the day when the wee ones are at school, and even when hubby is at his training Wednesday nights I still don’t feel in the mood for creativity. I just don’t feel the Mojo at night for card-making! However, this is what I created and I was quite pleased with the result. I really love the scroll sentiment; it just works, you know?!

I cheated a little bit last night as I’d already stamped and watercoloured the flowers a few days ago – it was just sitting there waiting to be made into something wonderful (we all have thoughts of grandeur, don’t we?)

I don’t normally go for girly-girl cards, but I rather do like this one. I stamped the floral image from Apothecary Art with black Staz-On and watercoloured it with my Aqua painter and ink from Old Olive, Pretty in Pink and Regal Rose ink pads. If you like the embossed background, I used the Brayer to cover the embossing folder with Crumb Cake ink before embossing the cardstock. It gives it that little bit more depth.

Stamps: Apothecary Art

Cardstock: Crumb Cake, Pretty in Pink, Confetti Cream, Watercolour Paper

Oh so Elegant Bird.

Ahhh, I am LOVING this bird die from Stampin’ Up! *sigh*. No really – it’s so cute and super easy to use and make into a card. (There seems to be a theme happening for my recent posts – easy cards!) YAY!

I thoroughly enjoyed making this card; I felt a real sense of peace and satisfaction as it all came together. What I like about this card is that I haven’t used a sentiment – it can be used for any occassion. Great to have on hand for that forgotten birthday or event that crept up on you.

I’ve taken the colour scheme from the Twitterpated Designer Series Paper – I was too lazy to come up with my own combination so I stole Stmapin’ Up!’s LOL. The colours that co-ordinate with Twitterpated DSP are; Pear Pizzzaz, Basic Grey, Island Indigo, Riding Hood Red, Blushing Bride, Baja Breeze and Whisper White. I simply reduced my combo to basically Blushing Bride, Baja Breeze and Riding Hood Red.

Beautiful butterflies

Posted in Cards tagged , , , at 5:33 pm by bejewelledcreations

I made a whole collection of these cards and gave them to mum for her to use as thankyou cards. Not a lot of stamping was required as you can see, so these were really quick and easy. I used Stampin’ Up!’s Beautiful Wings Embosslits die and cut lots of butterflies in So Saffron, Marina Mist and Pretty in Pink. I then glued them to the Whisper White card with Tombow Multi-purpose adhesive (LOVE that stuff!!!)

I love how clean and simple this design is. I made some in portrait orientation which looked nice too.

Stamps: Curvy Verses

Cardstock: Whisper White, So Saffron, Marina Mist, Pretty in Pink

Inks: Early Espresso

Other: Big Shot, Beautiful Wings Embosslits die, Tombow Adhesive, Rhinestone Basic Jewels

Dare to Dream

Posted in Cards tagged , , , at 8:59 am by bejewelledcreations

This is a new stamp set from the Autum/Winter Mini which is current till the end of July. This card uses a stamp from the set called Apothecary Art and is beautifully simple to use. What I just LOVE about it is that it has a co-ordinating die from Stampin’ Up that can be used in your Big Shot or Die Cutting machine.

Stamp the image first, then position the image on your Big Shot machine (facing up) on your cutting pad. Place the Framelit die  – cutting edge down – over the top of your stamped image (it’s easy to line up!) and then cover with your top cutting pad. Easy Peasy!! And it looks professional too.  ;o)

The sentiment (Dare to Dream) comes from the stamp set, “Loving Thoughts” which fits nicely with Apothecary Art.

I’ve made three other cards at the same time as this one as it was quite easy to make four in one go. They’re all using the same colour scheme and basic design, but all slightly different – I’ll post them later at some time.

Stamps: Apothecary Art, Loving Thoughts

Cardstock: Marina Mist, Certainly Celery, Very Vanilla

Inks: Marina Mist, Certainly Celery

Other: Big Shot, Framelits (Labels Collection), Finial Press

embossing folder, Rhinestones.

Simple Robot.

Posted in Cards tagged , , , , at 9:35 am by bejewelledcreations

This is a card I made for a friends little boy recently. The stamp set is retired, but I just love this set and so I *HAD* to use it.

The photo is a bit blury – sorry for that. I blame the poor photography on being an Uber busy mum (see section below for further details).

I wanted it to be clean and simple so I chose to emboss a piece of cardstock covered with basic kitchen foil – fancy that!! So easy.

Images © 1990-2012 Stampin’ Up! ®

Another reason why I love this card is that it was super quick to make. I was very pressed for time (translates to: “I left it to the last minute!” *rollseyes*) so it was the perfect design for a time-challenged-mum.

Stamp Set: Lots of Bots (retired)

Cardstock: Not Quite Navy, Bashful Blue, Whisper White.

Ink: Not Quite Navy.

Others: kitchen foil (awesome product!! LOL), Big Shot, Square Lattice embossing folder, Anywhere Gluestick.

Established Elegance – Vintage style.

Posted in Cards tagged , at 9:24 am by bejewelledcreations

I just adore this stamp set. I love how you can layer so many of the stamped images and it still looks amazing! (instead of just a mish-mash of random images, tee hee)

I’ve also discovered that I love KEYS! I’ve even started hunting for them in Antique shops and have a massive collection of  TWO so far! LOL.

12 Days of Christmas Projects – Project #7

Posted in 12 Days of Christmas Projects, 3D items tagged , , , at 8:00 am by bejewelledcreations

Christmas Project #7Christmas Bird-House

Little Bird-house

To create this little Birdhouse, I’m combining a couple of projects that I’ve shared with you during my 12 Days of Christmas Projects – the Mini Milk Carton, my punched-Holly and the Robin from Christmas Project #6.

Follow the previous directions for each of those projects to assemble the mini milk carton, Holly and the Robin. Don’t forget to punch a circle out of the mini milk carton for the birdhouse entrance! To create the roof, I simply cut cardstock at the same width as the top of the mini milk carton and punched scallop edges on five sections. There really si no need for a template or measurements – just as long as the width is the same, you can add as many “roof tiles” as you like. I’ve spondged the edges of the birdhouse and roof to make it look more rustic. (Rustic is good because it can “hide” a multidude of little mistakes – Rustic means ‘off-centre’ or’ wobbly’ or ‘ooops’ in my dictionary!!)

This is a perfect size to hang on your Christmas Tree with a little piece of ribbon or placed on a shelf or mantlepiece – very cute.

Thankyou visiting – please come back to see the remainder of the 12 Days of Christmas!
